Please make sure that your order of Jungleman All-Natural Deodorant is delivered to a location where it will be received promptly. Avoid having your order left outdoors or in a mail box subject to extreme heat and/or direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time, as such conditions may cause your deodorant (or any deodorant for that matter) to melt.
Jungleman Naturals is not responsible for deodorants that melt due to the aforementioned conditions.
Are Jungleman Naturals deodorant containers recyclable?
Jungleman Naturals deodorant containers are 100% recyclable. This is just another way that Jungleman Naturals tries to minimize its impact on the environment, in addition to offering a 100% ALL-NATURAL product that contains no aerosols, hydrocarbons, or PFCs.
Jungleman Naturals deodorant containers are made of recyclable polypropylene, which corresponds to recycling code 5. Please recycle your Jungleman Naturals deodorant containers when you are finished using them. The Earth will thank you and so will we.
Are Jungleman Naturals deodorants aluminum free?
Jungleman Naturals deodorants are free of: aluminum, parabens, peroxides, alcohols, GMO ingredients, artificial colors, artificial fragrances, propylene glycol, glycerin, ascorbic acid, silica, castor oil, sodium stearate, or any other junk that shouldn't be under your pits. In addition to being hypoallergenic, Jungleman Naturals Deodorants are also non-comedogenic, and therefore will not block your pores.
What is greenwashing?
Greenwashing is the use of misleading or deceptive advertising used to form the perception that a company's products are environmentally friendly or all-natural, when in fact, they are not. Many deodorant manufacturers like to throw around the words "green," "Earth-friendly," and "organic," without any actual substance or positive environmental impact to back the hyperbole up. This is the epitome of greenwashing.
Both Tom's of Maine and Burt's Bees Wax are owned by Colgate-Palmolive and Clorox, two of the largest manufacturers of industrial and household chemicals in the world. In addition to Tom's of Maine, Colgate-Palmolive manufactures Speed Stick, one of the most chemical-laden standard deodorants in the world.
Colgate-Palmolive, held potentially responsible for hazardous waste at a federal toxic Superfund site in New Jersey, markets Tom's of Maine to unwitting customers as a safer alternative to the very deodorant it manufactures (in the form of Speed Stick). It begs the question as to what these corporations' true intentions are.
Do you really trust these large-scale chemical manufacturers when it comes to the well being of your under arms? Do you truly believe that they have your best interests in mind? Don't fall for the greenwashing strategies and gimmicks of these chemical manufacturers.
Jungleman Naturals is 100% privately owned, and will never sell out its customers for a chemical manufacturer of any kind. Nor will it ever dismiss its core value of being as safe, natural, and environmentally friendly as possible. Join the revolution against greenwashing, with Jungleman Naturals!
Will Jungleman Naturals deodorants products stop me from sweating?
No, they will not. Nor should they. It's unnecessary and unnatural to stop the human body from secreting sweat. Sweat is necessary to cool down the human body when it's overheated. Jungleman Naturals deodorants attack the real problem, odor. They are 100% aluminum free and super-absorbent, so that you can secrete sweat naturally, but not have a swamp brewing in your armpits. Jungleman gets the job done right.
Are Jungleman Naturals products tested on animals?
If, by "animals," you mean non-humans, then no. We do not test our products on anything other than willing human beings, which are indeed animals.
Jungleman Naturals products are cruelty free and vegan. Our products DO NOT CONTAIN any animal products whatsoever, nor will they ever.
Does baking soda contain aluminum?
Baking soda does not contain aluminum. It never has, does, or will, ever. Baking soda is simply sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3). It has been made for centuries by mixing sodium carbonate (Na2CO3), carbon dioxide (CO2), and water (H20). Aluminum, or any of its sulfates, are not used whatsoever to make sodium bicarbonate.
Baking powder, used as a leavening substitute for yeast in cooking, on the other hand, may contain sodium aluminum sulfate and/or sodium aluminum phosphate. Jungleman Naturals deodorants contain no baking powder, rather they contain sodium bicarbonate, also known as baking soda.
All food grade and commercial sodium bicarbonate is produced without aluminum. If someone claims to sell a "baking soda," and not a "baking powder" that contains aluminum, they are not truly selling baking soda, as baking soda is simply NaHCO3 and nothing else. They are required to label it as "baking powder" or some other variant.
This is why our ingredient list states "baking soda," and not "non-aluminum baking soda," "aluminum free baking soda," or some other deceptive variant. Several baking soda manufacturers, in addition to a litany of deodorant and cosmetic manufacturers, are guilty of this deceptive practice that blatantly takes advantage of the confusion these days caused by the liberal, interchangeable usage of the words "baking soda" and "baking powder."
So now that you know the truth about baking soda and aluminum, don't let these manufacturers off the hook for their deceptive marketing practices aimed at extracting your hard earned money through trickery. Let them know that you demand transparency and honesty in advertising. Jungleman Naturals has always and will always maintain 100% honesty with its customers.
Is Jungleman All-Natural Deodorant for men or women? What about Junglewoman All-Natural Deodorant?
Jungleman All-Natural Deodorant and Junglewoman All-Natural Deodorant, much like all of Jungleman Naturals' products, are unisex, meaning that they can be used by both men and women. We here at Jungleman Naturals don't believe in gender stereotypes, and neither should you. Jungleman All-Natural Deodorant is completely odorless, and Junglewoman All-Natural Deodorant has an extremely light lime scent. Both work equally well for both men and women.
Contrary to what major antiperspirant companies have been telling you, body odor does not discriminate. Men and women alike are equally capable of stinking up a storm. All that "pH balanced for a woman" hocus pocus is just a marketing ploy to charge women more for an inferior product.
The beauty of Jungleman All-Natural Deodorant and Junglewoman All-Natural Deodorant is that their 100% all-natural scents (or lack thereof, in the case of Jungleman All-Natural Deodorant) work great for both sexes, so you won’t have to choose between smelling like men's aftershave or cheap perfume. Regardless of whether you're a man or a woman, Jungleman All-Natural Deodorant and Junglewoman All-Natural Deodorant are 100% "jungle"icious!
Are deodorant crystals aluminum free?
So called "all-natural" deodorant crystals make their claim to being aluminum free, yet possess ammonium alum as a principal ingredient. Ammonium alum, or ammonium aluminum sulfate dodecahydrate, is a sulfate of aluminum, and therefore is an aluminum salt, just like aluminum chlorohydrate, the principal ingredient in antiperspirants.
The deodorant crystal is actually one giant greenwashing scam designed to take advantage of "green" minds with clever marketing tactics. In terms of potential toxicity, aluminum chlorohydrate and ammonium alum are one in the same; as is potassium alum, or any other aluminum salt. Through clever greenwashing propaganda, these crystal manufacturers have marketed their product as being "all-natural" or comprised of 100% natural mineral salts and nothing more.
Arsenic, lead, and mercury are also "all-natural," but that doesn’t exactly mean that they should be applied liberally to your underarms. All aluminum salts are "natural mineral salts," as they exist naturally in chemistry. Again, that does not necessarily mean that they are healthy.
Yet another piece of propaganda used by these crystal manufacturers is their insistence on claiming that their product is a natural "African" or natural "Thai" crystal. This can also be filed nicely into the realm of fantasy, as these crystals were all manufactured, and even if they weren't machined the way they were, they'd still contain the very aluminum salts that the consumer is actively trying to avoid, none the less.
When forced to concede that ammonium alum is indeed an aluminum salt that these crystals possess, deodorant crystal manufacturers will rush to claim that although their product does in fact contain aluminum salts, these salts have a chemistry such that the ions in the "natural mineral salts" are too large to pass through the skin.
Or they will claim that the ions are negatively charged, and therefore cannot enter the body. Both of these claims are patently false and have about as much empirical evidence to substantiate them as the tooth fairy. Skin pores, especially in the underarm regions, are millions of times larger than the ions in question, meaning aluminum will get in your body like sand falling through a cargo net.
So now that you know the truth about deodorant crystals, don't let these manufacturers off the hook for their outright, greenwashed lies. Let them know that we won't stand for dishonesty when it comes to what goes under our arms. Jungleman Naturals deodorants DO NOT CONTAIN any aluminum of any kind, and Jungleman Naturals will always maintain 100% honesty with its customers.
How do I apply Jungleman Naturals deodorants?
To apply Jungleman Naturals deodorants, simply uncap the deodorant stick and gently twist up as needed. Gently apply the deodorant to your underarms as needed to control body odor. For optimal application and performance, store at room temperature (between 55 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit).
We pride ourselves on making the most tolerable, hypoallergenic product on the market, but there will inevitably be a very small percentage of people who will have a reaction to certain ingredients in our formula, as it is virtually impossible to make any product 100% hypoallergenic or non-reactive.
If you have any allergies or intolerances to any of the ingredients in any of Jungleman Naturals deodorants please do not use these products.
If at any time you experience any irritation, redness, or rashes in or around your underarm areas, please discontinue using this product, as you may have sensitivity to one or more of these ingredients.
Store Jungleman Naturals deodorants at room temperature (between 55 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit) in a cool, dry area, away from extreme heat and cold, and avoid leaving your deodorant outdoors.
Can I apply Jungleman Naturals deodorants directly after shaving?
While many people apply our deodorants directly after shaving, we wouldn't recommend putting anything under your arms directly after shaving, including deodorant of any kind.
As your underarm skin is very delicate, even more so after a shave, it's always best to wait for any shaving related irritation to subside prior to applying Jungleman Naturals deodorants. This applies to any deodorant that you put under your arms, and not just Jungleman Naturals deodorants.
What measures do you take to protect shipments against heat?
To ensure that our customers experience Jungleman Naturals deodorants exactly as they would buying them from a retail store, all domestic (United States) orders are frozen, then shipped with a non-toxic cold pack in an insulated mailer or box.
Jungleman Naturals prides itself on being the only deodorant manufacturer in the world that provides this type of shipping with all domestic (United States) orders, and not as an extra “summer shipping” or “hot weather” surcharge to be added to original shipping charges.
We've taken great measures to make sure that our product does not melt in delivery or at one's doorstep, including: formulating our deodorant to have a higher melting point than most standard and natural deodorants (our deodorants are solid up until about 85 degrees Fahrenheit, and semi-solid from there to about 90 degrees Fahrenheit), freezing deodorants prior to shipment, and keeping all 1st class shipments under 13 ounces and sending all shipments over 13 ounces via priority mail (to ensure delivery to just about anywhere in the U.S. in 3 days or less).
We do not provide ice packs for international shipments, as international orders generally take 3 days or more to arrive, thus nullifying the effects of a cold pack. International shipments are still frozen to withstand possible heat exposure during transit in the United States, prior to departure to a foreign destination.
Even with the use of cold packs and insulated mailers and boxes, most shipments can only remained chilled for 3 days at the most. Therefore, it is of utmost importance to please make sure that your order of deodorant is delivered to a location where it will be received promptly.
If your deodorant container or the package that it came in arrives hot, DO NOT OPEN AND/OR TIP THE DEODORANT CONTAINER, as this may cause the product to spill out. Simply set the deodorant stick aside, upright, in a room temperature (between 55 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit) location, indoors, away from sunlight. Once the deodorant has fallen back into place below the cap, it will be ready for the next steps below.
If your deodorant arrives semi-solid, (only partly melted or butter-like), simply place it in the freezer. After about 30 minutes in the freezer, and a little bit of thaw time (it won't twist or rub on well until thawed properly) at room temperature (between 55 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit), it will function exactly as it would have prior to heat exposure.
If your deodorant is completely melted (runny liquid throughout), you can also simply place it in the freezer, however, you should stir it with some kind of stirring implement so that the ingredients inside don't separate prior to freezing. Again, after thawing at room temperature, it also will function exactly as it would have prior to heat exposure.
My deodorant won't twist up. Is it defective?
No, your deodorant is not defective. All deodorants are frozen prior to shipment and mailed with a cold pack to ensure that all orders will survive transit (specifically during hot summer months or when sent to or through hot locations).
If your deodorant doesn't twist up immediately after opening your package, please set your deodorant aside at room temperature (between 55 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit) for a few hours. Your deodorant should be able to twist up shortly thereafter.
My deodorant has a small hole or bubble. Is it defective?
No, your deodorant is not defective. Although infrequent, small bubbles or holes can occur during the process of manufacturing Jungleman Naturals deodorants. This simply means that excess air was trapped into a molding as it cured. Your deodorant will be just the same as any Jungleman Naturals deodorant in terms of performance, ingredient composition, and volume.
Why the name Jungleman?
Owners Jeremiah Blattler and Yulaika Figueroa came up with the name "Jungleman" as a brand name due to several reasons. The first reason being that their parents were from Vietnam and Honduras respectively, two countries with vast areas of jungle. The second reason was that the product was all-natural and they thought the best way to represent that was with a shadowy, uncompromising figure from the heart of the jungle.
Lastly, they chose the name and logo as a contrast to the myriad of other natural deodorants that tended to be marketed with illusory images of flowers, trees, and blue skies in an effect to cater solely to a certain demographic. Jeremiah and Yulaika felt that this alienated all other demographics that didn't fit that certain stereotype of wanting a cuddly, hippie paradise, filled with sunshine, puppies, and rainbows.
In fact, in the early days, what they saw as a revolutionary way of marketing a natural product to a larger audience, far beyond the usual stereotypes, was viewed with skepticism and often times outright disdain by many a store buyer. They were told that their products would never sell with such a name, logo, and marketing strategy.
Thankfully, those store buyers were terribly wrong. Our track record as the highest selling natural deodorant on the internet, our reputation among our internet customers as the most effective natural deodorant on the planet, and our ever increasing sales in retail stores, helped us to win over the hearts and minds of even the most skeptical store buyer.
Jeremiah and Yulaika completely changed the way natural deodorant would be viewed by the general public by creating a logo that showed their product to be to be fierce and effective in the fight against body odor, as opposed to the usual "earthy" names that conjured up images of bathing in herbs and flowers to cover up stench. Jungleman Naturals deodorants were branded to emphasize their most important attributes: safety and effectiveness.
